To Our Wonderful Military Families:
It is an honor to be recognized as a Purple Star School since 2021. We have an ongoing commitment to supporting military-connected students and families in the school setting. Jonas Salk Elementary is a diverse and inclusive school community serving over 760 students, with a small percentage representing military families. Regardless of the small percentage, we remain deeply dedicated to ensuring that every military-connected student feels supported, seen, and valued.
Since our initial designation, we have continued to strengthen our efforts to meet the unique academic, social, and emotional needs of our military youth. We are intentional in helping families navigate transitions such as Permanent Change of Station (PCS) moves and deployments, while fostering a sense of belonging and connection within our school community.
Maintaining our Purple Star designation affirms our commitment to sustaining a positive and welcoming environment for all students, particularly those who serve alongside their families in the military. We take great pride in this recognition and look forward to continuing our work to support our amazing military youth and their families.
